President Of The Issuance Of The Job Creation Perpu, Need The DPR To Reprimand Jokowi?

Political communication observer at Esa Unggul University, Jamiluddin Ritonga, criticized President Joko Widodo's move to issue the Job Creation Law Perpu. According to Jamiluddin, the DPR should reject the Perpu. This is because the Constitutional Court (MK) ordered the government and the DPR to improve the Job Creation Law which was decided to be conditionally unconstitutional.

"The president seems to have no opinion of the DPR RI. Even though the decision of the Constitutional Court has asked to revise the Job Creation Law," Jamiluddin said in Jakarta, Monday, December 2.

Jamiluddin reminded that the revision of the Job Creation Law cannot be carried out by the government itself so it must be discussed together with the DPR. Therefore, the Perpu seems to have hit the applicable legal order.

"So, the DPR RI should be angry with the government's actions. Because the DPR seems to have no. Ideally, the DPR rejects the Perpu. The DPR must have the courage to position it as the President. Because in the constitution the position of the DPR is equal to the president," he said.

Jamiluddin reminded that the DPR should not only be a government stamp agency. So that the legislative body must be at the forefront of realizing its function, especially in the legislative function.

"Only then, the DPR will be honorable in the eyes of the Indonesian people. The DPR must be strong, so that the people are proud of its representatives who sit in the DPR," he concluded.
