Counsel The Witnesses And Suspects In The Case Of AKBP Bambang Kayun Kooperative, KPK: This Is A Legal Obligation

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) reminded anyone summoned regarding the alleged bribery and gratification case AKBP Bambang Kayun to cooperate in fulfilling the summons. Anyone who is absent can be forcibly picked up by investigators.

"We convey to anyone who is summoned by the investigative team, both as a witness and as a suspect, to be cooperative," said Head of the KPK News Section Ali Fikri to reporters, Thursday, December 29.

Ali said the investigator's summons must be fulfilled without exception. "Because it is a legal obligation," he said.

KPK investigators will certainly not hesitate to forcibly pick up anyone who has been summoned twice. There are legal rules to support this process.

"If they do not attend without valid reasons, the KPK will not hesitate to pick them up according to the provisions of the criminal procedure law," said Ali.

Previously, the KPK had picked up witnesses in this case who were absent from the investigator's summons on Wednesday, December 28. He is a private person named Yayanti.

This forced pick-up was carried out because investigators needed information regarding the alleged bribery and gratification that ensnared AKBP Bambang Kayun.

Bambang Kayun was named a suspect in alleged bribery and gratification related to falsification of letters during the case for the seizure of the rights of the heirs of PT Aria Citra Mulia (ACM). He is suspected of getting billions of rupiah to the Toyota Alphard car.

The KPK then summoned him on December 23. It's just that he was not present without reason to investigators.

In this case, Bambang has also filed a pretrial at the South Jakarta District Court. He sued because he did not accept being named a suspect by the KPK.

However, the lawsuit was rejected by the Sole Judge of the South Jakarta District Court, Agung Sutomo Thoba. Bambang's determination as a suspect is considered to have complied with the procedure.
