After Being Banned, The KPK Summoned Edhy Prabowo's Wife

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) summoned DPR member Iis Rosita Dewi as a witness for the alleged former Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Edhy Prabowo who is also her husband.

"Iis Rosita Dewi is being examined as a witness for the EP suspect (Edhy Prabowo)," said Acting KPK spokesman for prosecution Ali Fikri in a written statement, Tuesday, December 22.

Apart from examining Iis, there were a number of other witnesses who were also questioned for Edhy, namely the Acting Director General of Capture Fisheries of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Muhammad Zaini Hanafi, Djasman Malik who is an advocate, and finance party PT Perishable Logistic Indonesia Kasman.

As previously reported, Ali said that the KPK had asked Edhy Prabowo's wife to be prevented from leaving the country. This prevention was at the request of the KPK to the Directorate General of Immigration at the Ministry of Law and Human Rights as of 4 December.

Apart from Edhy Prabowo's wife, three other people who were prevented from leaving the country were the Director of PT Perishable Logistic Indonesia (PLI) Deden Deni and two private parties, namely Neti Herawati and Dipo Tjahjo.

According to him, these four people were prevented for the purpose of examination and prevented their reasons for being abroad when they were about to carry out the examination.

"Prevention of going abroad is of course in the interests of the examination so that when it is necessary to schedule the examination of the witnesses they will not be abroad," said Ali.

It is known that Iis was also secured by the KPK in a hand-arrest operation against Edhy Prabowo when he was still the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries. However, after undergoing intensive examination Iis was released.

Deputy Chairman of the KPK, Nawawi Pomolango, said that Edhy's wife was released because based on the title of the case before the decision of the case, no involvement was found.

The KPK, said Nawawi, had just found sufficient preliminary evidence against seven people. One of them is the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Edhy Parabowo, who is suspected of accepting bribes related to the export license for fry.
