Update On COVID-19 As Of December 24: New Cases 784, Active Cases 20,680

The COVID-19 Task Force released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 30,705 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 784 new positive cases of COVID-19.

"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 6,715,586 people and active cases have fallen by 527 to 20,680 cases," said COVID-19 Task Force data, Saturday, December 24.

Today's recovered cases increased by 1,294 people, bringing the total to 6,534,382 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 17 cases and a total of 160,524 people.

The province with the newest cases is DKI Jakarta with 254 cases and a total of 1,534,841 cases. Followed by West Java which has 204 new cases with a total of 1,231,398 cases. East Java has 70 new cases and a total of 636,229 cases. Banten has 53 new cases and a total of 364,623 cases.

The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 527 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 209 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 192 recovered cases, and East Java with an additional 69 recovered cases.

In addition, the number of specimens that had been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigen reached 113,681,063.

"Positive results per number of people examined or this week's positivity rate of 3.35 percent", he wrote.

The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases was recorded at 2,164 people. Currently, 34 provinces have had cases of COVID-19.

Furthermore, currently there are 203,958,661 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 174,678,659 the second dose of vaccination. Then, the third dose of vaccination was 68,245,925 and the fourth dose was 1,137,049. Meanwhile, the target for vaccination in Indonesia is 234,666,020 people.
