The Indonesian Air Force Base (Lanud) Raden Sadjad, Natuna, Riau Islands, provided information regarding the findings of materials similar to debris from the fuselage, by local residents.

"The Indonesian Air Force, in this case Raden Sajad Ranai Air Base, has secured a number of materials suspected of being debris by the fuselage," said Raden Sadjad Natuna Air Base Commander, Colonel Pnb Jajang Setiawan in a written statement quoted by Antara, Saturday, December 24.

He said the security of materials began with public reports about the discovery of debris that was suspected of being debris from an airplane on the coast of Kampung Air Danau, Sepempang Village, East Bunguran District, Natuna Regency.

"From the report, the Air Base together with the security elements of the local area of the Natuna Police and Police carried out checks at the location as well as securing materials," he said.

He also showed that the debris had now been secured by his party along with other related items, such as buoys, how many debris and one piece of metal measuring approximately one square meter.

"Currently, the debris is suspected to have been secured in the hangar of the RSA Air Base for "inspection" by the Maintenance Section of the 52 Air Squadron, RSA Air Base," he said.

Furthermore, he also said that to ensure the existence of these objects, his party was still conducting intensive further investigations.
