Prabowo-Puan It Is Believed That He Will Be Carried By Gerindra-PKB If PDIP Meets

JAKARTA - Executive Director of the Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO) Dedi Kurnia Syah assessed that the 2024 presidential election has a great opportunity to be probed by the king makers who form the main political axis. "If you read the opportunity for candidates and king makers, it is likely that three main groups will be born," said Dedi, Friday, December 23.

Dedi explained that the king maker in question, first, Megawati Soekarnoputri, supported Prabowo Subianto and Puan Maharani.

Second, he continued, Joko Widodo (Jokowi) who was behind Ganjar Pranowo and Airlangga Hartarto. Third, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), Surya Paloh, and AM Hendropriyono who supported Anies Baswedan and Andika Perkasa.

According to Dedi, if the PDI-P (PDIP) chooses to form a coalition with Gerindra-PKB, then it is likely that the axis will support the Prabowo Subianto-Puan Maharani pair. This is because Ganjar Pranowo has a small possibility to be positioned as a vice presidential candidate (cawapres).

"PDIP itself, if they both support Prabowo and only place cadres as vice presidential candidates, then Puan will have more opportunity, Ganjar will look expensive if she has to be vice presidential," said Dedi.

When that happens, added Dedi, Ganjar may get closer and hunt for his blessing to Joko Widodo. The United Indonesia Coalition (KIB) will be a boat for Ganjar Pranowo to fight in the 2024 presidential election, paired with Airlangga Hartarto.

"For that, Ganjar is hunting for his blessing. If it is not from Megawati, then he will be under Jokowi's control to find his own boat. And that is KIB," he concluded.
