JAKARTA - There is a rapid test candidate case at Senen Station, Jakarta. Central Jakarta Metro Police Chief Kombes Pol Heru Novianto revealed the modus operandi used by the rapid test brokers.

The three arrested actors, namely AG, LY and HS, targeted prospective passengers who were impatient due to the long rapid test queue.

"To be fast, he (the broker) asked for services, asked for transport, offered to a designated place to get a rapid test (rapid test)," Heru said in Jakarta, Sunday, December 20.

These brokers collect fares starting from delivering prospective passengers to getting quick test results. For example, for services to deliver to a rapid test clinic until the results come out, passengers are pegged a fare of around Rp. 50,000.

Then the rapid test fee is IDR 95 thousand. There is also the cost of transporting a two-wheeled motorbike to the clinic is set at around Rp. 35 thousand to 45 thousand.

"They are looking for loopholes because many are queuing up, many are impatient. They offer themselves services to a place that can issue rapid tests, "said Heru.

Heru reminded prospective passengers at Senen Station to leave a few hours earlier to avoid queuing for health checks.

"If you want to go, don't be pressed for time, and make sure the place for the rapid test is really valid, so that when you return to your village or on a long trip, you don't spread the COVID-19 disease to other people or to families you will meet in the village," he said.

Previously, officers from the Central Jakarta Metro Police and Senen Police arrested three suspected fast test brokers at the Senen Train Station, Central Jakarta, early Sunday, December 20.

"The perpetrator offered the results of a rapid test without a medical examination and the price was cheap," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Police Commissioner Yusri Yunus in a written statement in Jakarta.

Yusri explained that the three quick test brokers were arrested shortly after the police received a public report regarding the practice of brokering the results of the rapid test at Senen Station, on Saturday night at around 23.00 WIB.
