JAKARTA - The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) supports the efforts of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in uncovering and investigating allegations of corruption in the procurement of social assistance for handling COVID-19.

In fact, these two institutions often coordinate on this matter. "Yes. We continue to coordinate. There is mutual communication," said the Supreme Audit Agency member Achsanul Qosasi when quoted on Sunday, December 20.

Achsanul did not clearly answer whether the coordination was related to BPK's steps which are currently auditing the management of social assistance for handling COVID-19. What is clear, said Achsanul, the results of the audit conducted by his party can be used by law enforcement agencies, including the KPK.

"We focus on the quality of Bansos which must comply with the provisions," said the former deputy chairman of Commission XI DPR RI.

The chairman of BPK, Agung Firman Sampurna previously stated that the law enforcement process carried out by the KPK needs to be supported as part of the struggle to face the corona virus pandemic. BPK appreciates the work of the KPK in uncovering the alleged case of two social assistance procurement for Jabodetabek for handling Covid-19 which has ensnared Social Minister Juliari P. Batubara.

"I think that law enforcement by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is something that is important for us to observe and appreciate together. This is our collective effort, our struggle to face COVID-19. So that Indonesia can survive, recover and rise. All that is done for that, let us support together, we support the law enforcement process, "said Agung Firman at the KPK building, Jakarta some time ago.

Agung said, BPK is currently auditing the management of social assistance for handling COVID-19. The results of the audit are targeted to be completed and will be submitted by the BPK in January 2021.

"We are conducting an audit, the audit will be submitted to the report on the results of the examination. It is planned to be carried out in late January 2021 or early February," said Agung.

However, Agung has not been able to convey the contents of the audit. This is because the audit process has not been completed by BPK.

"I cannot possibly convey the contents because it is not permitted because it is a violation of the code of ethics to submit the report on the results of the examination before the LHP is finalized," said Agung.
