The Regent Reminded The Village Head Not To Get Involved In Politics In The 2024 General Election

JAKARTA - Acting Regent of Ogan Komering Ulu, South Sumatra, Teddy Meilwansyah reminded all village heads in his area not to get involved in practical politics in the 2024 election.

"The village head must not be involved in politics, either in the regional elections or in the legislative elections," said Teddy when inaugurating 57 elected village heads as a result of the simultaneous Pilkades in October 2022 in Baturaja, Saturday, December 17.

Teddy said that in 2024 OKU Regency will enter a political year so that village leaders must be neutral and impartial to one of the candidates.

The newly appointed village heads should not get caught up in practical politics so they don't get into trouble because there are regulations governing this.

"Sebagai jabatan tidak boleh karena ada aturan yang mengatur hal tersebut," tegasnya, mengutip Antara.

Teddy also advised to be careful in using village funds so as not to fall into the law.

"The results of the release from the KPK a few months ago were recorded as 686 village heads in Indonesia who had problems due to misuse of village funds. For OKU Regency, don't let it happen," he hoped.

Meanwhile, Head of the OKU Regency Village Community Empowerment Service, Ahmad Firdaus, explained that the 57 village heads who were inaugurated today were elected village heads in the simultaneous Pilkades held on October 4, 2022.

"Of these, there was one village head from Bunglai Village who died so he was canceled," he explained.

Especially for the Bunggai Village Head, according to the rules, a replacement for the state civil apparatus (ASN) is prioritized by local residents or has good relations with local villagers.

"For the temporary official (PJS) of the Bunglai Village Head who was appointed and immediately appointed is Add, who is the National Alert Staff of the Ogan Komering Ulu Regency Kesbangpol Agency," he said.
