Ciracas Police Chief Kompol Jupriono said the beating began when the victim reprimanded one of the perpetrators who was urinating carelessly.

"At the time of the incident the victim was about to leave, he saw one perpetrator urinating randomly at someone's house. The victim was reprimanded," said Jupriono in Jakarta, Thursday, December 15.

Jupriono added that the perpetrators who did not accept the reprimand were then involved in an argument with the victim until a beating occurred.

As a result of the beating, the taxi driver suffered bruises. The perpetrators then fled after beating him.

Meanwhile, the victim immediately reported the case to the Integrated Police Service Center (SPKT) of the Ciracas Police for follow-up.

"If we look at the CCTV, the perpetrators are three people, we are still investigating. The victim has made a report, the case is now under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Ciracas Police," said Jupriono.

Jupriono said his party had asked for information from the victim and a number of witnesses around the location and secured CCTV footage evidence for the investigation process.

Currently, the Ciracas Police Criminal Investigation Unit has not been able to confirm whether the perpetrators who carried out the beatings were under the influence of alcohol or other drugs.
