Help The Government Socialize The New Criminal Code, The DPR Will Form The Task Force Team

JAKARTA - The DPR will form a task force team (task force) to help the government socialize the Criminal Code (KUHP) to the public. The transition period for the implementation of the Criminal Code, which was only ratified by the DPR on December 6, was 3 years since it was promulgated. Therefore, said Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, there needs to be adjustments to technical regulations.

"We will form a kind of task force to socialize the Criminal Code," said Dasco, Friday, December 9.

While the DPR is intensifying socialization, Dasco also invites the public to use their constitutional rights to sue the new Criminal Code to the Constitutional Court (MK).

"That is the right of every citizen if during the socialization period they also want to use their constitutional rights to conduct judicial reviews, for example, go ahead," said Dasco. This Professor of Law admits that there are several articles that are highlighted by the people of the country and the world in the new Criminal Code. Therefore, Dasco emphasized, the Criminal Code needs to be further socialized to the community, even though the implementation period is still 3 years away.

For example, said Dasco, related to the article of adultery or the one that regulates the gathering of kebo. He explained that the article is a complaint offense and only certain people can complain.

"Regarding the article that commits all kinds of adultery, it's a complaint offense, the second is indeed the one who reports the closest family," he explained. So the world doesn't have to worry about regulations against foreign tourists who vacation in Indonesia. However, he considers that criticism is part of the dynamics that need to be socialized not only at home but abroad. "If tourists want to report here? That's about it," said the daily chairman of the Gerindra DPP.

"But I understand that the dynamics that occur are because we really need to socialize not only internally in Indonesia but also abroad," added Dasco.
