Investigating The Cause Of The Fire In The Ambon Tofu Lorong Thatdied 1 Resident, The Inafis Team Was Deployed

The Ambon Island Police Inafis Team and PP Lease were deployed to the location of the fire which scorched hundreds of kiosks and houses in the Lorong Tofu area, Sirimau District, Ambon City.

Ambon Police Chief Kombes Pol Raja Arthur said the police were investigating the cause of the fire that killed one resident.

"The Inafis team is currently working at the scene to conduct an investigation," said Arthur in Ambon, Friday, December 9, as reported by Antara.

A fire engulfed the Lorong Tofu area on Friday, December 9 in the morning at around 04.30 WIT.

This incident caused one resident named Ever to die as a result of being locked in a boarding room on the second floor.

In addition to the permanent housing building, along the location of the fire, there are also many semi-permanent stalls or stalls that are flammable, so the flames quickly spread to the side of the Bank Mandiri Mardika office building.

According to the Police Chief, the police line has been installed around the fire area and guarded so that no residents go in and out.

"The number of injured victims and damage to buildings to material losses suffered, including the cause of the fire, is still under investigation by the police," said the Police Chief.

Acting Mayor of Ambon, Bodewin M. Wattimena together with the Secretary of Ambon City, Agus Ririmase were also seen at the scene of the incident to coordinate.
