JAKARTA - The Political Climatology Institute (LKP) issued research results related to the feasibility of presidential candidates (candidates) in 2024. From the research conclusion, LKP said that Presidential Chief of Staff Moeldoko deserved to be a qualitative presidential candidate.
Initially, LKP found that the competition for presidential reading ahead of the 2024 General Election was increasingly narrowing down on three top figures, namely Prabowo Subianto, Ganjar Pranowo and Anies Baswedan. Meanwhile, the electability of the mid-table and lower-board candidates tends to stagnate.
However, LKP said, the remaining 14 months before the implementation of the 2024 General Election still allowed a surprise made by the prospective central board presidential candidate. One of the figures who has the potential to become ‘ black horse ’ is the Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP), Moeldoko. The reason is, Moeldoko is the only central board and bottom board presidential candidate whose electability continues to increase.
Although the survey quantitatively has increased rapidly, Moeldoko's electability rate has not been significant compared to candidates for top presidential candidates such as Prabowo Subianto, Ganjar Pranowo and Anies Baswedan.
"However, qualitatively Moeldoko has almost all the criteria needed to become a national leader. Therefore, the former TNI Commander is qualitatively worthy to be one of the 2024-2029 Indonesian Presidential Candidates," said LKP Executive Director, Usman Rachman, in his statement, Thursday, December 8.
Usman explained, LKP set 13 qualitative indicators as a reference for the feasibility of the President of the Republic of Indonesia 2024-2029. These indicators include family backgrounds, learning achievements (education), the rank of service achieved, organizational activities, the number of awards achieved, work responsibilities, empirical understanding of tasks, big ideas, controversy and others.
"Of these 13 indicators, Moeldoko reached the highest score in the 9 (nine) indicators, ahead of all figures whose names always color and dominate quantitative surveys," explained Usman.
Specifically regarding big ideas for the nation and state, according to the LKP study, Moeldoko is one of the figures whose national commitment is very consistent. Starting from issues of territorial integrity, threats of terrorism, radicalism, integrity of the Republic of Indonesia, religious tolerance, to problems of the nation's character building.
Moeldoko, said Usman, also has a solution that observers always put forward national interests. "As a former TNI commander, Moeldoko's national commitment is unquestionable. He never thought and acted sectarianly," he said.
In his capacity as Presidential Chief of Staff (KSP), continued Usman, Moeldoko was always present with the idea of a solution to various national issues that became a broad public concern. Starting from the issue of cooking oil, scarcity of fertilizers, high prices for basic necessities, to scarcity of employment opportunities.
"Moeldoko always comes with a way out. In other words, Moeldoko is very responsive to national issues involving the lives of many people," said Usman.
To note, in the results of the LKP survey if the presidential election is held at this time, the top presidential candidate is occupied by three names, namely Prabowo Subianto in the first place with 24.2 percent. Ganjar Pranowo is in second place with 23.7 percent, Anies Baswedan is third with 22.9 percent.
While the board candidates were filled by Ridwan Kamil 7.6 percent, Moeldoko 4.2 percent, Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono 4.1 percent, Erick Thohir 3.5 percent, and Sandiaga Uno 2.0 percent.
While the lower board presidential candidates are Puan Maharani 1.8 percent, Airlangga Hartarto 1.4 percent, and Muhaimin Iskandar 0.9 percent.
The latest research by the Political Climatology Institute (LKP) was conducted on 17-29 November 2022 involving 1,200 randomly taken respondents in 34 provinces throughout Indonesia. The survey population is all Indonesians aged 17 years and over or not 17 years but are married.
Data collection is carried out using a face-to-face interview technique with respondents, carried out by trained personnel with questionnaire guidelines. The margin of error for this survey is +/- 2.83 percent at the level of confidence of 95 percent.
This LKP survey is also equipped with qualitative research, especially to assess the level of feasibility of a figure to become a presidential candidate as well as a candidate for national leader.
