JAKARTA - The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD said that anyone, including officials summoned by the police, need not panic.

This was conveyed by Mahfud in response to West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil's statement that he had to take responsibility for the crowd of the Imam of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) Rizieq Shihab when he arrived in Indonesia on November 10.

"Officials or whoever is called by the police, don't panic," said Mahfud during a press conference after attending the Submission of Evaluation Results and Policy Recommendations for Ministries / Institutions in the Field of National Unity which was held online, Wednesday night, December 16.

He said, summoning a person or regional officials could have various purposes. For example, to be summoned as being investigated or just being questioned.

This is often done when he served as Chairman of the Constitutional Court (MK) some time ago. At that time, Mahfud said, there was no sense of panic in him.

So, reflecting on his experience, Mahfud reminded governors, such as Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, who were summoned by the police for questioning, not to panic or cause a fuss by accusing them of being convicted.

"So don't feel that if you are called, Mr. Anies was called a noisy person being convicted, then in West Java (Ridwan Kamil, red), you were asked if the correct date was so busy, did you really give permission, if you didn't give permission, then that's it. , "he said.

Furthermore, Mahfud also said that the questions raised by the police when asking for information from Anies and Ridwan Kamil would later be constructed. This was done to see who really had problems in the event that the crowd appeared at that time.

He also believed that Ridwan Kamil and Anies would not be made suspects or even accept criminal law regarding this matter.

"I am sure, for sure there will not be a criminal problem with Pak Anies, against Pak Emil, he was only asked to be strict," he said.

"Being called why feels impaled is a normal process. That's enough," he added.

Previously reported, after being questioned at the West Java Regional Police Headquarters, Ridwan Kamil said Mahfud MD's statement was the root of the problem of the protracted case of the Rizieq Shihab crowd in a number of locations. Ridwan Kamil said Mahfud MD must take responsibility.
