Putting Mount Boga As A Location For Sport Tourism, Disporpar Paser Holds Paragliding Festival

JAKARTA - The Sports and Tourism Youth Office (Disporapar) of Paser Regency, East Kalimantan, held a paragliding festival on 10-11 December 2022 in the Mount Boga tourist area located in Luan Village, Muara Samu District.

"The paragliding festival aims to introduce Mount Boga as a location for sports tourism or sports tourism," said Head of the Paser Muksin Regency Disporapar in Tanah Grogot, quoted by Antara, Sunday.

In addition, he said, paragliding festival activities were held to enliven the 63rd anniversary of the Paser Regency Government.

This activity will be attended by 12 paragliding athletes in an area known as dew mountains, both athletes from East Kalimantan and abroad.

Currently, he said, Disporapar Paser together with the development company are in the process of structuring locations and cleaning trees around the paragliding landing area.

Muksin also explained that Mount Boga is a very suitable location for Paragliding sports activities in East Kalimantan Province.

This is because the location of Mount Boga is easily accessible to athletes for paragliding activities.

"The location supports taking off as well as a fairly wide landing position," he said.

He hopes that in 2023 paragliding activities can be carried out again in the tourist area, as well as formed by the Federation of Aero Sport Indonesia (FASI) Paser Branch.

"We hope that the athletes can be trained from local residents, while the athletes are still in the inventory, hopefully the FASI can also be formed in Paser," hoped Muksin.

Muksin continues to hope that with the paragliding festival later as a moment to introduce Paser Regency widely to the national level, and its existence as a location for sports tourism can improve the economy of the local community and local government.
