Jokowi: 2024 Is A Very Important Political Moment

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) reminded that 2024 is a very important political momentum where Indonesia will hold the biggest democratic party simultaneously.

Jokowi conveyed this in his direction at the 'National Consolidation Meeting in the Context of Preparedness for the 2024 Simultaneous Election Stages', which was held by the KPU at the Beach City Entertainment Center Ancol, Jakarta, Friday, December 2.

"The year 2024 is a very important political moment. We will hold the biggest democratic party simultaneously, in the same year. The elections for the President and Vice President, DPR, DPD, DPRD, and continue with the Pilkada which will be held in the same year, namely 2024," said the President.

Jokowi emphasized that the 2024 election is a big job that determines the future of the nation and state. A democratic party involving a very large number of voters.

Based on the latest data, the number of voter rights holders recorded is 189 million people, who will exercise their right to vote in the 2024 General Election simultaneously, with a voting time given for approximately six hours.

"Managing this is not easy with a very wide area of the Republic of Indonesia, with various geographical conditions, different from other countries. Imagine having to go to 17,000 islands, some taking boats, ships, some distributing logistics must be supported by the TNI/Polri, and the terrain is not easy," said Jokowi.

The head of government acknowledged that the condition of the national infrastructure was not entirely perfect. There are roads that have been good and toll roads have been built, but there are also roads that are still damaged.

However, the President believes that armed with experience in organizing elections in the past, the KPU and related parties can prepare for the 2024 election much better than the previous election.
