Chronology Of The Shootings Of Six Questionable Laskar Rizieq

JAKARTA - Bareskrim Polri has reconstructed the case for the attack of the six special laskar of Rizieq Shihab's bodyguard which led to assertiveness or shooting. The reconstruction depicts that the police were forced to shoot the laskar for trying to fight back by seizing the officers' weapons.

These special laskar fought back after being arrested in the KM 50 rest area and put in a car. They were placed in different positions, for three people in the back and one in the middle along with the police.

Initially, they would be taken to Polda Metro Jaya for inspection. But while on their way to be precise on the Jakarta-Cikampek KM 51 + 200 toll road, they fought back.

They tried to seize weapons because of the favorable conditions. Because, after being arrested they were not handcuffed. In fact, before that they carried out the attack.

The Chairperson of the Indonesian Police Watch (IPW) Presidium Neta S. Pane questioned the reason for the police not handcuffing the laskar. In fact, even for minor cases, the parties who resisted or even attacked the officers would be immediately hacked off.

"This is very strange, when Rizieq himself was taken to the detention cell at Polda Metro Jaya, his hands were handcuffed by the authorities. Why were the four FPI members who had just finished shooting with the police not handcuffed when they were put in the police car?" said Neta.

In addition, Neta also considered that the police effort to put the four laskar who had previously been involved in a shootout with the police into a police car with a capacity of eight people, which was also filled with police officers, was absurd.

So, it should be suspected that there were violations of standard operating procedures (SOPs) by the police.

"It is clear that the police apparatus violated the SOP which caused the four FPI members to die in one car. From the explanation of the Head of the Police Public Relations Division, it can be seen how careless the police officer was," he said.

Police reason

Director of General Crimes (Dirtipidum) Bareskrim Polri Brig. Gen. Andi Rian emphasized that the police officers who arrested the laskar were actually only tasked with mapping Rizieq Shihab's movements. Because, at that time, the focus of the investigation was related to the whereabouts of Rizieq, who was involved in the alleged crowd case and violation of health protocols.

"Why did he (four laskar) not be handcuffed because the team that followed was not a team to catch, the surveillance team was to observe. They were not prepared to arrest them. However, if they received an attack, they were ready," said Brigadier General Andi.

In addition, firm action was given to the four laskar because the form of resistance they were taking had seriously endangered the police. Not only trying to seize weapons, some of the paramilitary troops also carried out physical violence.

"Two suspects or two perpetrators, one trying to strangle a member from behind. And in addition to trying to seize (weapons), it is no longer possible to use talk," said Andi.

Hunt the Four Warriors

Regardless of the results of the reconstruction, the National Police has so far pursued the whereabouts of four other laskar members who had been involved in the attacks. Because, based on the results of the reconstruction they also intercepted the police car.

"Regarding their role, the four people at the time of the incident were in an Avanza car, which at the time of the incident helped to block the car of the officer and even hit the officer 's car," said Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police, Kombes Ahmad Ramadhan.

Ahmad said that the four members of the army, who had not been caught, acted as deterrents and collectors of police cars. Before the shooting took place, they tried to block the police car by crashing it. However, after doing so they immediately fled.

The action was carried out by them when they were in front of the Novotel Hotel Karawang. This location is the scene of the first incident during the Reconstruction that was held by the police.
