BNPT: The Ideology Of Terrorism Knows No Territorial Boundaries And Ages

JAKARTA - The National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) stated that the spread of the ideology of terrorism recognizes no territorial and age boundaries, so it needs joint efforts by national elements to overcome and take precautions.

"The National Gathering activity this time is a form of our collective commitment to work together in tackling the spread of radical terrorism in Indonesia," said Main Secretary (Sestama) of BNPT Maj. Gen. TNI Untung Budiharto in a BNPT release received in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Tuesday, December 15. .

According to Untung, not a single community can be said to be immune from the ideology and ideology of terrorism, including government officials, both civilians, members of the TNI and Polri.

This counterterrorism effort is not sufficient if only carried out by BNPT itself, but it requires strong synergy between Ministries / Institutions, TNI, Polri, Regional Government and Regional Units in order to carry out early detection, preparedness and deterrence of the spread of radical terrorism, said Untung in the event "National Gathering of BNPT RI with Forkopimda Bali Province in the Context of Terrorism Prevention", Monday (14/12).

"This meeting with Forkopimda Bali is an effort to share a vision and mission in solving various national problems, one of which is the problem of radical terrorism," said Untung.

From this meeting, Untung hopes that communication will be established that will facilitate counter-terrorism activities, especially prevention, both through early prevention and early formation of terrorism activities in Bali.

"We will try to concoct togetherness through the National Gathering with Forkominda from the local government, police, military, prosecutors, and other stakeholders to jointly create a common vision in preventing terrorism," he added.

Sekdaprov Bali Dewa Made Indra said that in this activity, his party could exchange a lot of information about the potential for radicalism that could lead to terrorism in Bali.

"This is a very good exchange of information because BNPT delivers information on radical understanding that has the potential to give birth to terrorism, while we in Bali also provide the same information. Thus we can develop a common strategy going forward in the context of preventing acts of terrorism in Bali which are in our common interest, "said Dewa Made Indra.

After the BNPT RI National Gathering with Forkopimda Bali Province, the BNPT delegation immediately went to Jembrana Regency to hold a similar activity.

The difference is this activity is in the form of a National Gathering between BNPT RI and the Large Family of the Nurul Ikhlas Islamic Boarding School in Banyubiru Village, Negara District, Jembrana Regency.

"The presence of the BNPT at the Nurul Ikhlas Islamic boarding school is to strengthen the relationship and discuss various issues about how to prevent terrorism in the pesantren," said Untung.

He emphasized that the pesantren is a source of knowledge to jointly make commitments in countering terrorism in Indonesia so that this cooperation needs to be built and followed up so that socialization and dissemination of the dangers of terrorism can be disseminated to the community, families and students.
