Members of the House of Representatives Commission I Get Information on KSAL Yudo Margono as a Candidate for TNI Commander

JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has reportedly appointed Chief of Naval Staff (KSAL) Admiral Yudo Margono as a candidate for the Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces to replace General Andika Perkasa, who will enter his retirement period.

The appointment of Yudo as the sole candidate for the TNI Commander was mentioned by a member of Commission I of the House of Representatives (DPR) from the Golkar Party faction, Dave Laksono.

"That's the info", said Dave, I confirmed, Thursday, November 24.

As KSAL, Dave believes, Yudo already understands the situation within the TNI. He also does not doubt the ability of Yudo Margono if Jokowi really chooses him as Andika's replacement.

"I'm sure he can solve all the problems and continue reforms within the TNI", said Dave.

Previously, information about KSAL Yudo Margono being appointed as a candidate for TNI Commander was heard from the Minister of State Secretary Pratikno. He said that Yudo Margono would be the replacement for Andika Perkasa.

"Mr. Yudo", he said when confirmed, Wednesday, November 23.

However, the Secretary General of the DPR Indra Iskandar has confirmed that the presidential letter regarding the new TNI Commander candidate will be sent to the DPR on Monday, November 28. So it is not known for sure who the name proposed by Jokowi.
