JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) noted that there were 171 aftershocks after the 5.6 magnitude earthquake rocked Cianjur, West Java on Monday, November 23 yesterday. This was conveyed by BMKG Deputy for Geophysics Suko Prayitno as quoted from a press conference monitored via the BNPB Indonesia Youtube channel. "Until 15.00 WIB, the total number of aftershocks (Total) was 171. Starting from 07.00 am to this afternoon there was an addition of 3 but from a low strength," explained Suko. For weather conditions, continued Suko, it will continue to rain until the afternoon. This condition will subside at midnight. BMKG will continue to provide updates on weather developments in the next three days. In addition to the weather, the BMKG also made microzone measurements. This measurement is useful for real viewing of the potential for earthquakes on the ground surface. Suko said there are several points to be measured. Such as the areas of Panembong and Cilaku. BMKG, he continued, also continues to provide understanding to residents not to panic when facing aftershocks. Data from BNPB as of today there are 271 people who died. "Meanwhile, 151 people have been declared missing," explained Suharyanto.
