JAKARTA - The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) appealed to people outside of residents affected by the Cianjur earthquake, West Java not to enter disaster points. It is feared that the presence of residents from outside will interfere with the evacuation process from the joint SAR Team. "There are also many people outside the affected communities who come from outside the city from outside the affected areas as if this disaster is a spectacle. This is also advised, not to disturb the process of handling the affected communities," explained Head of BNPB Suharyanto at a press conference quoted from the BNPB Indonesia Youtube channel, Wednesday, November 23. Suharyanto said the geographical location in Cianjur was also not possible. For example, the road or route for the evacuation process is small, slippery to the rain that is still falling. As a result, if many residents come from outside, it disrupts the team's work in the evacuation. "We have coordinated that the elements of the TNI Police will be brought under control, cleaned. From the start I conveyed, please convey with the media, do not hinder this access for the benefit of all of us, especially for the displaced community," he stressed. Data from BNPB as of today there are 271 people who died. "Meanwhile, 151 people have been declared missing," explained Suharyanto. Of the victims who died, Suharyanto said that his party would still confirm again whether those who had been buried by the family were registered at the Puskesmas or related officers. "So it could be a miss. There are bodies that have been buried without being reported to the Puskesmas or hospital. I hope that the public can report them to us," he explained. The injured victims touched 2,043 people while those who fled reached 61,098. BNPB, he continued, also recorded tens of thousands of houses affected. In detail, 22,241 houses were heavily damaged, 11,641 units were moderately damaged and 22,090 houses were lightly damaged.
