JAKARTA - Puan Maharani and Ganjar Pranowo looked intimate in Solo last weekend. This is an alarm for other political parties who are often eyeing Ganjar regarding the 2024 presidential election.

A political observer from Al Azhar University Indonesia, Andriadi Achmad, assessed that togetherness between the two could close the doors of other parties to carry Ganjar as a presidential candidate in 2024.

"It's good for other political parties that the consolidation between Puan and Ganjar has closed the possibility of political parties interested in presidentially suppressing Ganjar in the 2024 presidential election," Andriadi told VOI, Tuesday, November 22.

The two PDI-P (PDIP) politicians also narrowed the space for NasDem Party presidential candidate Anies Baswedan to include Ganjar's name as his assistant vice presidential candidate.

However, Andriadi considered it not a big problem for Anies. What needs to be worried is when the discourse on a coalition with PKS and the Democratic Party is not realized so that NasDem's intention to carry Anies is deadlocked.

"But what Anies and NasDem need to worry about is when coalition friends, namely PKS and Democrats do not join the coalition," he said.

Disharmoni Puan-Ganjar Weakens PDIP

The relationship between Puan Maharani and Ganjar Pranowo was rumored to be heating up when the Governor of Central Java established himself through social media as a presidential candidate in 2024.

Although PDIP has denied this issue, Ganjar's success in imaging himself in various surveys and often entering the top three potential presidential candidates in 2024 has made his disharmony with Puan said to be even more sharpening.

"This phenomenon makes PDIP's internal circles consider Ganjar's maneuvers as if stepping on the PDIP General Chair. So that Puan Maharani's loyalist at PDIP feels that Ganjar is too forgetful to sell himself on social media to achieve popularity," said Andriadi.

On Monday, October 24, Ganjar was finally given a verbal warning by the Honorary Division of the PDIP DPP due to his statement that he was ready to become a presidential candidate in 2024.

According to the Executive Director of the Nusantara Institute PolCom SRC, Puan and Ganjar actually have no problems. Puan is Soekarno's biological and ideological grandson, while Ganjar Pranowo is Soekarno's ideological grandson.

Andriadi views that PDIP should pay close attention to the issue of disharmony between its fellow cadres. He said that the disharmony between Puan and Ganjar that the public felt could harm the PDIP.

"Actually, the disharmony between Puan and Ganjar can weaken and harm PDIP itself," he said.

Therefore, he said, the intimacy between Puan and Ganjar, which was seen during the Muhammadiyah Congress on November 18-20, should be maintained so as not to become a bomb for the party.
