Judge Open Access To Women's Communication Candrawathi Who Is Positive For COVID-19

JAKARTA - The defendant in the premeditated murder case of Nopriansyah Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J, Putri Candrawathi, was given access to use a cellphone. So, Ferdy Sambo's wife who was exposed to COVID-19 could communicate with the legal advisory team.

Putri Candrawathi has tested positive for COVID-19. Thus, she underwent an online trial from the Salemba Rutan at the Attorney General's Office.

It was given access to communication to Putri based on the request of her legal adviser, Rasamala Aritonang, to the panel of judges.

"Your Honor's permission, we ask that in an online trial our client can be accompanied by our friend who is heading to the prosecutor's office. And we ask for access to communication by phone," said Rasamala during a trial at the South Jakarta District Court, Tuesday, November 22.

Chief judge Wahyu Iman Santosa also called the request by asking for Putri Candrawathi's readiness to attend the trial. So, Ferdy Sambo's wife stated that she was ready to undergo an online trial.

"Please permission, Your Majesty, I am ready to run the trial today," said Putri.

Then, Judge Wahyu granted Rasamala's request. Thus, Putri Candrawati was given access so that she could communicate with her legal adviser.

"Well, if later, you can communicate with your legal adviser, yes. Throughout the trial because you are being declared COVID, then we will give you great access to your legal adviser to communicate with you via mobile phone communication," Wahyu said.

Putri Candrawathi will not be present in person at the follow-up trial of the premeditated murder of Nopriansyah Yosua Hutabarat alias Brigadier J on the day. This is because Ferdy Sambo's wife is said to have been exposed to COVID-19.

"The temporary information is that PCs have COVID-19," said Public Relations of the South Jakarta District Court, Djuyamto.

With that condition, Putri's plan will be presented online. So, he can listen to all the statements of the witnesses presented.

"Probably so (online trial, ed)," said Djuyamto.

For information, Ferdy Sambo and Putri Candrawathi were jointly charged with premeditated murder of Brigadier J.

In the indictment file, Ferdy Sambo is said to have ordered Bharada Richard totaling to shoot Brigadier J at the official residence at the Police Complex, Duren Tiga.

Meanwhile, Putri Candrawathi is said to have played a role in helping the execution of the murder. Then, it did not hinder Brigadier J's murder plan.

Thus, the second is charged with Article 340 subsidiary Article 338 of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 to (1) of the Criminal Code.
