Ministry Of Manpower Appreciates Companies That Give Job Opportunities For Persons With Disabilities

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Manpower appreciates the business world for its commitment to providing job opportunities for people with disabilities.

Awards for 12 national awards were given by the Ministry of Manpower with three companies each for the category of large, medium/middle enterprises, small companies and state-owned companies.

Ida Fauziyah hopes that business entities that receive awards will be able to motivate employers to continue to be committed and be more open to realizing the protection and fulfillment of the rights of Persons with Disabilities in the field of employment in the future.

"Today's momentum of activity is expected to be able to realize the commitment of the central government and local governments in inclusive employment services for brothers and sisters with disabilities, so that they are able to realize their role and participation in development on the basis of equality," said Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah at the event 'Giving National Awards to Companies and State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) that employed Persons with Disabilities in 2022' in Jakarta, Monday 21 November.

Ida Fauziyah revealed that there are five important indicators of the Ministry of Manpower in awarding this award. Namely the placement of disability workers; career development of workers with disabilities; welfare of workers with disabilities; accessibility; and the K3 program for persons with disabilities.

According to Ida Fauziyah, the issue of disability at this time is not only a national issue, but also an international issue and as a cross-cutting issue. This issue is one of the priority issues at the G20 Indonesian Presidency in 2022, which produced the Action Plan on Accelerating and Monitoring documents of the G20 Principles for the Labor Market Integration of Persons with Disabilities.

"This means that we, the Indonesian government, must immediately accelerate and monitor the principles of the G20 for the integration of the labor market for people with disabilities that are inclusive," he said.

Ida Fauziyah added that currently the direction of employment policies for persons with disabilities in Indonesia is carried out inclusively. The issue of employment inclusiveness has also been echoed in international forums, one of which is in the G20 forum.

However, Ida Fauziyah argues that efforts to create an inclusive world of work require the role of all stakeholders, because if you look at the data of companies that employ people with disabilities, this is still very small. "Looking at our WLKP data, from approximately 56 thousand companies, only 3,433 companies or the equivalent of 1.73 percent of companies have employed people with disabilities," he said.

Meanwhile, Plh. Director General of Binapenta and PKK of the Ministry of Manpower, Estirty Haryani said that appreciation to private companies/BUMN that have opened up job opportunities for people with disabilities, aims to motivate and encourage other private companies/BUMN, to continue to provide space for people with disabilities to develop their skills, obtain jobs, and work as national development subjects.

Tiga perusahaan besar yakni RS. Amal Sehat Wonogiri, sektor usaha Jasa Jasa Kesehatan; PT. Qhome Sukses Abadi, sektor usagang Perdagangan Retail; dan PT. Adis Dimension Footware, sektor usaha Industri Manufacturur.

Furthermore, the category of three medium/medium companies is CV. Restu Bunda, Trade Business Sector (Kriya Batik Lampung); Foundation for Creative and Smart Houses, Home Industry Business Sector (Home Industry); Burger Buto, Trade/Restoran business sector.

Meanwhile, the category of small companies was accepted by PT. Robben Graha Mandiri, Jasa Business sector; Jambi Rindani Batik, trading business sector (Batik); and Andi Perabot, the manufacturing industry business sector.

The three state-owned companies that received the award were PT Bank BRI, Tbk; PT Pertamina, Tbk and PT Telkomsel, Tbk.
