JAKARTA - The National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago attracted the interest of G20 member countries in the Summit in Bali.

"In the G20 Summit (KTT) forum which just ended in Bali. IKN has become one of the topics that attract the interest of G20 countries," said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono in an online discussion with the theme "The Implementation of Disaster Mitigation in IKN Planning" monitored in Jakarta, Saturday 19 November.

G20 member countries interested in IKN include Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates.

"Even in the High Level Experts and Leaders Panel on Water and Disasters (HELP) Special Event in Bali as part of the G20 Summit, IKN became a special topic discussed and visited by participants to understand and provide input on water and disasters based on their respective experiences," Basuki said as quoted by Antara.

In this HELP forum, it is proposed that there be a follow-up workshop considering that it has not been discussed in detail from IKN, related to sustainable water management at IKN.

"Several universities propose to discuss in more detail the sustainable water management at IKN," said Basuki.

The Ministry of PUPR hopes that a follow-up workshop from the G20 HELP regarding sustainable water management at IKN can be held at the beginning of next year.

Previously, the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono appreciated South Korea's plan to participate in building a clean water system in the National Capital (IKN) of the Archipelago.

He added that the initial construction plan will begin in 2024, but the Ministry of PUPR hopes that the detailed technical plan preparation process can be accelerated, so that installations can begin to be built in 2023.

Basuki expressed his hope that the Government of the Republic of Korea (South Korea) could actively support the preparation until the implementation of the 10th World Water Forum (WWF) which will be held on May 18-24, 2024 in Bali.
