French President Emmanuel Macron said the G20 Bali Summit had successfully sent a clear message ending the Russia-Ukraine war.

"Although (Russian President Vladimir) Putin did not come, the message sent by the main economic power from Bali is very clear... most G20 members have explicitly condemned the war in Ukraine!" Macron said at a press conference in Nusa Dua, Bali, Wednesday 17 November.

Macron insists the G20 does not turn a blind eye to war. He said the G20 continued to open up spaces for talks, including with China and India, to encourage Russia to end the conflict.

"Now is the time for Russia to hear the message conveyed by the international community and return to the negotiating table," he said.

Macron then alluded to the latest developments on the Russia-Ukraine conflict, namely the crash of a missile in a village in Poland close to the Ukrainian border.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, November 15, killing two people. The head of state, G7+, immediately reacted to an emergency meeting on the sidelines of the G20 Bali Summit on Wednesday, November 16 morning.

"We are working with Poland to find out what really happened, and we are doing it with all the allies we met this morning," Macron said of the G7 meeting.

Separately, Polish President Andrzej Duda responded to the incident his country experienced. He said there was no indication the missile attack deliberately targeted Poland.

"We have no evidence that the rocket was launched by the Russian side, most likely it was used by Ukrainian defense forces," Andrzej said on Wednesday, November 16 morning.

In the Bali Leaders' Declaration or Bali Declaration agreed by the G20 heads of state at the 19-nation plus European Union cooperation group summit, they regretted Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

The G20 leaders agreed to sue Russia to withdraw its entire troops from Ukraine.
