Distribution Of The Three KBT Area Zones In East Jakarta Not To Legalize Street Vendors

JAKARTA - The East Jakarta City Government (East Jakarta City Government) has divided three East Flood Canal (KBT) structuring zones, namely red, yellow, and green zones.

"In the red zone there should be no activities. The yellow zone can be carried out activities, both street vendors and so on, but it is limited, while the green zone can be used," said Deputy Mayor of East Jakarta Hendra Hidayat as quoted by Antara, Monday, November 14.

Hendra added that his party had conducted socialization of the KBT arrangement which included three areas, namely Cakung, Duren Sawit, and Jatinegara sub-districts.

In the socialization at the East Jakarta Mayor's Building, all the heads of the task force, Satpol PP, and representatives of RW, and the Kelurahan Deliberation Institute (LMK) in the Duren Sawit area, Cakung District, and Jatinegara District.

"It should be noted that we do not legalize Street Vendors (PKL). For street vendor locations on the edge of the KBT, it is not legalized because there is a lot of garbage disposal, both buyers and sellers at KBT," said Hendra.

Hendra said that based on data, there were 1,000 traders selling on the KBT route. Later, the city government will determine where they sell.

"Later, those who are allowed to sell Jakpreneur assisted in the East Jakarta area, related to operating hours and traffic flow related to congestion will be regulated and will be meeting next," said Hendra.

Eka emphasized that the arrangement of street vendors was carried out so that along the KBT route it was much neater and more regular. Not only that, with this arrangement, it is hoped that traffic jams can be minimized.

"The arrangement of this street vendor is not legal but organizing and if later it will be reorganized by the East Jakarta City Government, the street vendors must be willing to be moved, so it's not forever that they sell there, but only temporarily from us," said Hendra.
