17 Heads Of State Confirm Attendance At G20 Summit, Jokowi: This is Encouraging

BALI - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) stated that he had received reports that 17 heads of state had confirmed that they would attend the G20 Indonesia Summit in Bali.

"Preparing for the G20 Summit, I have received reports that everything is ready, 17 heads of state are present. This is encouraging in this very difficult time now," President Jokowi said, as reported by Antara, Sunday, November 13.

Jokowi added that Indonesia would fight for world peace and be part of the solution to climate change and economic recovery.

On that occasion, the President also said that when he received the Chair of ASEAN in Cambodia, he said that ASEAN must be stronger as the epicenter of world growth.

He emphasized that economic cooperation must be strengthened so that ASEAN can progress.

Jokowi and First Lady Iriana Joko Widodo landed at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, on Sunday evening, after traveling from Cambodia to attend the ASEAN Summit.

The Presidential plane Indonesia One arrived at the airport apron at around 20.15 WITA.

When he got off the plane, the President was greeted by the Governor of Bali Wayan Koster, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, and Head of BIN Budi Gunawan.

The President has made a working visit (kunker) to Cambodia to attend the ASEAN Summit from 9 to 13 November 2022.

While in Bali, President Jokowi is scheduled to attend a series of activities for the G20 Presidency with the culmination of the G20 Summit on 15-16 November 2022.

The G20 is a strategic multilateral platform that connects a number of countries with the world's largest economies, which began in 1999.

The 17th G20 Summit will be held in Nusa Dua, Bali, on November 15-16, 2022.

The G20 Indonesia presidency raised the theme "Recover Together Recover Stronger" and raised three priority issues, namely health architecture, digital transformation, and sustainable energy transition.
