JAKARTA - The Polda Metro Jaya team arrested five bandits who broke car windows who often acted in the rest area of the toll road. The members of this conspiracy are two minors.

"We have secured five suspects from five TKP (crime scenes) and are still being developed. Yusri explained that the mode of this gang was a little different from the bandits who broke the windshields of cars who usually acted looking for targets in quiet places.

"The targets are vehicles that park a lot in the toll road rest area, they use four-wheeled vehicles when in action and then patrol around the toll road rest area, see which vehicle the owner leaves during a meal break, where he does the action," he added.

On average, the items that are the target of this gang are cellphones, laptops and bags in the vehicle.

However, the police are also still investigating the findings of firearms which, according to the conspirators, were obtained from a bag that was stolen from one of the victim's cars.

"We are still investigating one, because when we took a bag, it contained a firearm, so we will investigate its ownership," he said.

Currently, the five perpetrators have been named as suspects and are being held at the Polda Metro Jaya Detention Center to be accountable for their actions and undergo legal proceedings.

The five suspects were charged under Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with weight, with a maximum imprisonment of 7 years.

Yusri appealed to the public not to leave valuables in vehicles unattended.
