Chairul Tanjung Conglomerate 'Just' Occupies The 9th Position Of The Richest People In Indonesia

JAKARTA - The Chairul Tanjung (CT) conglomerate, which has various businesses ranging from media and entertainment, natural resources, retail, to banking, is only able to be in the ninth position of the richest people in Indonesia in 2020.

Quoted from Forbes Indonesia's official Instagram, Thursday, December 10, the position of CT was under Kalbe Farma founder Boenjamin Setiawan. It was recorded there that CT's assets reached US $ 3.9 billion or equivalent to Rp.55 trillion.

In 2019, Chairul Tanjung also occupied the ninth position as the richest person according to Forbes Indonesia. At that time, his wealth reached 3.6 billion dollars or around Rp.50.6 trillion.

Meanwhile, the first position of the richest people in Indonesia 2020 is the Hartono brothers. Budi and Michael Hartono are still the richest people in Indonesia. They have occupied the top position for 12 consecutive years.

The Hartono brothers' assets totaled US $ 38.8 billion or equivalent to Rp.547.8 trillion (assuming an exchange rate of Rp.14,100 per US dollar).

Following the Hartono brothers, the second position was occupied by Sinar Mas Group founder family Eka Tjipta Widjaja. The wealth of the Sinar Mas Group family, according to Forbes, increased by 2.3 billion US dollars to 11.9 billion US dollars, equivalent to Rp167.79 trillion.

After the founder of the Sinar Mas group, Eka Tjipta Widjaja, Forbes classified this wealth as the Widjaja family. The position of the Widjaja family has risen one place from third position last year.

Meanwhile, in third place, there is petrochemical tycoon Prajogo Pangestu with total assets of US $ 6 billion or IDR 84.6 trillion. Although his net worth fell 21 percent due to the weakening petrochemical market, Pragojo remained unchanged in third place.
