Pfizer's COVID-19 Vaccine Lands In Israel, Netanyahu: The End Of The Pandemic Is Near

JAKARTA - The first batch of Pfizer-BioNTech's COVID-19 vaccine has landed in Israel. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu welcomed this with the belief that the end of the COVID-19 pandemic was in sight.

"This is a big celebration for Israel," said Netanyahu, his nickname, at Ben Gurion Airport, near Tel Aviv as quoted by CNA, Thursday, December 10.

On the sidelines of the vaccine drop event, Neyanyahu assured the Israeli public that he would be the first to be vaccinated. This he did to ward off rumors about the quality of the vaccine made by Pfizer.

"I want to be an example for them and I want to be the first person to be injected with this vaccine in the country of Israel," said Bibi, Netanyahu's nickname.

It is recorded that the first shipment of vaccine amounted to eight million doses. The arrival of a vaccine is a new beginning for Israel in curbing the spread of the virus from Wuhan. This is because so far Israel has confirmed 348,285 cases of COVID-19 transmission with 2,932 deaths.

"The end of the pandemic is in sight. What is important for me is that Israelis get vaccinated," added Bibi.

Previously, the Pfizer vaccine had not received regulatory approval for use in Israel. With Bibi's power, the vaccine distribution permit was issued.

Bibi's high confidence is none other than because the results of the stage III clinical trial of the vaccine made by Pfizer are 90 percent. What's more, the vaccine trials had produced no adverse side effects among the thousands of volunteers who had tried it.
