JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) has asked the public to be aware of extreme weather in Jakarta which will still last until tonight.

Based on information compiled from BMKG, Michael Sitanggang Kasatpel for Disaster Data and Information Processing of DKI BPBD, there is the potential for rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in a number of areas of Jakarta.

"Be aware of the potential for rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds in West Jakarta, South Jakarta and East Jakarta in the afternoon and late at night," Michael said in his statement, Monday, November 7.

Then, there is also the potential for rain during the afternoon/to evening in some areas of Bogor Regency, Bogor City, and Depok City.

It was recorded that as of 09.00 WIB, the water level at most of the floodgates was still normal. Meanwhile, those with Alert 2 status are the Fish Market Water Gate.

Furthermore, moderate to heavy rains that hit most of the DKI Jakarta area on Sunday, November 6, still caused flooding in 1 RT in DKI Jakarta as of 09.00 WIB.

"West Jakarta has 1 RT in North Kembangan Village with a height of: 40 centimeters. The cause is high rainfall," said Michael.

BPBD DKI Jakarta mobilizes personnel to monitor inundation conditions in each region and coordinate elements of the Natural Resources Service, Highways Office, Gulkarmat Service to carry out inundation suction and ensure water lines function properly together with local lurah and sub-district heads.

"The inundation is targeted to recede in a short time," he said.
