JAKARTA - The adjudication hearing for the settlement of the 2024 election process dispute held by the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) entered into the agenda of reading the verdict, Friday, November 4. Against the Justice and Unity Party (PKP), Bawaslu granted some of the lawsuits.

PKP is known to be a party that does not pass the administrative verification of political parties as candidates for the 2024 General Election which has been announced by the General Elections Commission (KPU).

"In the subject of the case, one, grants the petitioner's petition in part," said Assembly Chair Rahmat Bagja reading the court's decision, quoted from Antara, Friday, November 4.

The PKP lawsuit, among others, relates to objections to the recapitulation of the results of the administrative verification of political parties for prospective election participants which was issued on October 13, 2022.

Previously, in the consideration of Bawaslu which was read out by members of the Lolly Council to be stopped, it was stated that PKP as the respondent experienced a number of technical obstacles in uploading political party requirements data for prospective participants in the 2024 Election. Based on the statements of a number of witnesses who had been examined, continued Lolly, the obstacles faced included PKP failed to upload the excel file to the Voter Information System (Sipol) and failed to upload data to Sipol because the server was down. This problem continued to be faced by PKP members until in the end they ran out of time to upload documents and administrative improvement requirements that had been determined by the KPU. The applicant experienced delay constraints in the process of uploading management and membership into the Sipol due to the Sipol experiencing system error, server down, and 404 and 405 error, said Lolly.

Furthermore, with the granting of some of the lawsuits, Bawaslu decided on the KPU report Number 213 / PL.01.1-BA / 05/2022 regarding the recapitulation of the results of the administrative verification of political parties for prospective election participants which was issued on October 13, 2022, was canceled.

Then, Bawaslu ordered the KPU to give the PKP the opportunity to submit the revised requirements documents related to the administrative verification of political parties for prospective participants in the 2024 General Election.

"Furthermore, order the respondent to carry out administrative verification of improvements to the repair requirements documents submitted by the applicant," said Bagja who is also the Chairman of Bawaslu.

Next, Bawaslu also ordered the KPU to issue a report on the recapitulation of the results of improving the administrative verification of political parties for prospective participants in the 2024 General Election.

"The KPU was ordered to carry out this decision, a maximum of three working days after the verdict was read out," said Bagja.
