FPI Keeps Rizieq Shihab's Whereabout A Secret: If We Tell Them, His Life Will Be Threatened

JAKARTA - Spokesperson for the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), Munarman, did not want to tell the whereabouts of Muhammad Rizieq Shihab after the shooting incident of six FPI followers.

According to Munarman, if he announces the location of Rizieq, Rizieq's life will be threatened. He said that the state institutions are stalking Rizieq.

"If I mention where Habib Rizieq is now, his life will be threatened," said Munarman in the Petamburan area, Central Jakarta, Monday, December 7.

Munarman said that Rizieq was mourning the shooting incident of six of his followers. According to him, the troops were only guarding the safety of the FPI leader.

"He is very sad, very sad. They were a Laskar who solely served him to guard him. He is very sad," said Munarman.

He also denied the police statement. The police said that they would prevent mass mobilization. The mass mobilization is said to be related to the investigation of Rizieq Shihab at Polda Metro Jaya.

"Habib Rizieq was about to head outside Jakarta. If the police were in an investigation effort, there would be a letter. Habib Rizieq would come or not. If he didn't come, there should be legal remedies. No need for stalking," said Munarman.

The police attack by Rizieq's Laskar took place at around 00.30 WIB Monday. Metro Jaya Regional Police Chief, Inspector General Fadil Imran, said that the police received news that the mass of Rizieq's supporters would be deployed in connection with the investigation.

The Regional Police investigated the truth of the information. Then, they followed the vehicle. On the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road, Fadil said the officers' vehicles were intercepted and then attacked using firearms and sharp weapons, as his colleagues saw.

"Members felt threatened because they were attacked. Then, they took a firm measure of measure. So, the group of allegedly MRS followers, 10 people, 6 of them died," said he.

However, the FPI Spokesperson, Munarman, denied it. He emphasized that Rizieq had traveled to attend recitation at his family residence.

"The news is slanderous. Habib Rizieq is heading outside Jakarta to attend the family recitation. I do not want to mention where it is. It is only a family recitation. It does not involve any parties," said Munarman.
