Sigi Regency Government Helps The Education Fee Of UnABLE Citizens To Undergraduate Undergraduates Academically

SIGI - Sigi Regency Government, Central Sulawesi, helps pay for education for residents who excel academically up to the level of strata one or undergraduate. This assistance is only provided for those who have economic limitations. "This education cost assistance program is given to the younger generation in Sigi who excel, but on the other hand experience economic limitations," said Sigi Deputy Regent Samuel Yansen Pongi in Sigi, Antara, Monday, October 24. In 2018-2022, as many as 262 young Sigi received tuition assistance for the level of strata one (S1), with an allocation value of more than Rp6 billion in aid. Data from the Sigi Regency Government stated that among the 262 students who received the assistance, some graduated from being doctors. Samuel Pongi said the scholarship was attached to the People's Welfare Section of the Sigi Regency Government Regional Secretariat. The Sigi Regency Government also allocates assistance for education and education costs. In 2017-2020 the tuition assistance was given to 16 people with an aid value of more than IDR 500 million. Based on data from the Sigi Regency Government, in 2021 scholarships and accommodation will be given to 294 people and in 2022 there will be 132 people. The scholarship program is only intended for the younger generation who excel academically, but is limited economically. "We will continue this program in the coming years, as a form of commitment from the Sigi Regency Government in building human resources in Sigi," he said. He added that the program to provide tuition assistance was a manifestation of the commitment of Sigi Regent Mohammad Irwan and Deputy Regent Samuel Pongi in educating residents in the Sigi area. "We hope that the development of good human resources in today and will have an impact on improving people's welfare," he said. The Sigi Regency Government routinely evaluates the program to ensure that the distribution of aid is right on target.
