JAKARTA - Head of the Ambon Search and Rescue Office (SAR), Mustari, has stopped the search operation for a six-year-old boy after his body was found in the sea around Wayame Village, Teluk Ambon District.

"The SAR operation was closed last night after the body of Fairus Rabani was found floating in the sea at 18.15 WIT and the SAR team evacuated to the victim's family's house," Mustari said in Ambon, Saturday, October 22, as reported by Antara.

The victim was reported missing due to falling in a ditch in the Air Kuning Hamlet area, Baturerah Country, Sirimau District (Ambon City) and being dragged into a river that had been flooded since Tuesday (18/10) at around 16.00 WIT.

"In the fourth day of the SAR operation, the SAR team was divided into two Search and Rescue Units (SRU) to expand the search area where the second SRU conducted excavations not far from the ditch where the victim fell.

Meanwhile, the second SRU conducted a search and search again along the Dusun Air Kuning river.

The joint SAR team continued to search until 18.15 WIT and the Ambon Basarnas Control Center received information from one of the people of Wayame Village who had found a floating corpse not far from the Wayame Village Speed Boat base.

Receiving this information, the Ambon Basarnas Rescue Team was deployed to the location of the victim's discovery for the evacuation process at 18:38 WIT to Bhayangkara Hospital Ambon for the identification process.

After being confirmed by the victim's parents, the victim's body was then taken to the funeral home to be handed over to the family.
