KPK Detains Banggai Laut Regent, A Corruption Suspect At The Polda Metro Detention Center

JAKARTA - The KPK detained the Regent of Banggai Laut, Central Sulawesi, Wenny Bukamo for the next 20 days. The detention was carried out by the KPK at the Polda Metro Jaya detention center.

"The suspect will serve the first 20 days of detention until December 23, 2020," said KPK Chairman Firli Bahuri in his statement, Saturday, December 5.

In addition, there were two other suspects who were also detained. Both of them are Recky Suhartono Godiman and Hengky Thiono.

The suspect, Recky Suhartono Godiman, was placed at the Polda Metro Jaya detention center. Meanwhile, Hengky Thiono was assigned to the detention center at the Central Jakarta Metro Police.

The three of them had just been detained because based on the results of the rapid test it was declared reactive to COVID-19. The suspects must first undergo isolation.

"Then on Saturday, December 5, the three of them carried out a rapid test again and the results were non-reactive. Therefore, today the three suspects were brought by the KPK team to the KPK's Red and White House," said Firli.

The three of them are suspects in the procurement of goods and services in the Banggai Laut Regency Government for the 2020 fiscal year.

For Wenny Bukamo, Recky Suhartono Godiman and Hengki were declared as recipients of bribes. They are accused of Article 12 letter a or Article 12 letter b or Article 11 of Law Number 31 of 1999 as amended by Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning Eradication of Corruption in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code.
