Ministry Of Transportation Signed Concession With PT Pelabuhan Tiga Bersaudara

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) has agreed on a concession or cooperation agreement regarding the granting of a port concession license with the Port Business Entity (BUP) of PT Pelabuhan Tiga Bersaudara (PTB).

"The Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia has appointed PT Pelabuhan Tiga Bersaudara (PTB) to carry out port service business activities at the Muara Berau ship to ship transfer terminal at Samarinda Port," said PTB Operations Director Ario Bandoro Saputro in a release in Jakarta, reported by Antara, Friday, December 4.

He explained that concessions are very important so that the government, in this case the Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation, gives rights to PT PTB as BUP or port operator. That way, PT PTB can carry out port exploitation at the terminals and facilities in the concession area.

According to Ario Bandoro, port services at the Muara Berau Cargo Transfer Terminal at Samarinda Port are in accordance with the National Port Master Plan (RIP) as regulated in the Decree of the Minister of Transportation Number: KP 432 of 2017 concerning the National Port Master Plan. On this basis, the signing of the concession agreement takes place.

PTB Business Development Kamaruddin Abtami said that the licensing agreement (concession) also provides legal certainty for port service business activities carried out by BUP PT PTB.

"Including the efficiency of business activities at the port," said Kamaruddin Abtami.

In 2010 the Ministry of Transportation determined the location of the port for the transfer of goods through the Decree of the Minister of Transportation Number: KP 382 of 2010 concerning the Determination of Locations for the Transfer of Goods Activities in the Waters of Muara Jawa and Muara Berau, Samarinda City, East Kalimantan.

In addition, based on the Decree of the Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 244 of 2020 concerning Amendments to the Decree of the Minister of Transportation Number: KP 382 of 2010 concerning Determination of Locations for Transfer of Goods Activities in the Waters of Muara Jawa and Muara Berau, Samarinda City, East Kalimantan.

PTB was given the trust of the Minister of Transportation to become port operators in Muara Jawa and Muara Berau, East Kalimantan in the Ship To Ship (STS) transfer activity which was tasked with providing scouting services, delays, and other needs required by the captains of coal-carrying ships. in the Muara Jawa and Muara Berau regions.
