The joint SAR team continues the search for a missing grandfather at Perkebunan Mandengan, Matani 1 Village, Central Tomohon, Tomohon, North Sulawesi (Sulut).

Head of Operations for the Manado Search and Rescue Office (Basarnas) Jandry Paendong said the search for victim Daniel Tiwow, 68 years old, today focused on the location of the last witness.

"Today's search is entering its second day," he said in Manado, North Sulawesi, Monday, October 17.

Yesterday, Sunday, October 16, the joint SAR team from Basarnas consisting of the TNI, Police, BPBD, RAPI, local government and the community had carried out a search. However, until the evening there were no signs of casualties.

In today's search, the joint SAR team was divided into several points suspected of having been visited by the victim.

Information from the family, the victim daily gardens and feeds the pet at the Mandengan Plantation. After undergoing this activity, the victim returned home in the afternoon.

"The victim is known to have a history of ulcers and amnesia," he said.

Jandry said, on the second day of the search, his party hoped that the victim could be found safe.

"We hope that the team on the ground will always be enthusiastic in carrying out humanitarian mission tasks, maintaining cohesiveness and coordination with each other," he said.

Previously, on Sunday, October 16, Basarnas Manado received a report that Daniel Tiwow had disappeared after finally leaving the house on Saturday, October 15. The victim left the house at around 07.30 WITA for gardening.

On Sunday at 15.30 WITA, the family and government have tried to search, but the victim has not yet been found.

The victim's family finally pleaded with Basarnas to help with the search.
