Ade Armando Reported by Aremania to Malang Police

MALANG - A social media activist who is also a lecturer at the University of Indonesia (UI) Ade Armando (AA) was reported to the Malang City Resort Police by one of the Aremania coordinators about uploading videos related to the tragedy at the Kanjuruhan Stadium.

The team of lawyers for Aremania's coordinator, Azam Khan, said the report was due to AA's comments about the Kanjuruhan tragedy that had offended and caused a commotion among Aremania or Arema FC supporters.

"AA offended and caused a commotion because he mentioned Aremania, our client, who is one of Aremania's coordinators, reported this. This concerns ITE", said Azam, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 11.

Azam explained, in the video upload, AA had said Aremania behaved like thugs and was a hero when the tragedy occurred at the Kanjuruhan Stadium which killed 132 people.

In addition, AA in the video also does not express condolences or give empathy to Aremania. AA is also considered to have cornered Aremania in a video that was uploaded sometime after the Kanjuruhan tragedy.

"He just shoots straight away, as if to discredit Aremania. In this case, Aremania is called a thug, pretentious champion, and so on", he said.

Azam hopes that with the report to the police, the legal process can be neutral and objective. The report is expected to provide a sense of justice for Aremania.

"So whatever the reason, the legal process continues. It can't be helped. As for clarification later, we will return to our client", he said.

Meanwhile, Malang City Police Criminal Investigation Unit Head AKP Bayu Febrianto Prayoga said that the police had received a report from a team of lawyers, one of the Aremania coordinators.

"The report has been received. We still have to explore and further investigate", he said.

On Saturday, October, there was chaos after the match between Arema FC against Persebaya Surabaya with a final score of 2-3 at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency. The defeat caused several supporters to descend and enter the field area.

The riot grew bigger as several flares were thrown including other objects. Joint security officers from the police and TNI tried to dispel the supporters and in the end used tear gas.

As a result of the incident, as many as 132 people were reported to have died from fractures, trauma to the head and neck, and asphyxia or reduced oxygen levels in the body.
