JAKARTA - Army Chief of Staff (KSAD) General Dudung Abdurachman during a series of visits to Australia, visited the Australian War Memorial.

As a form of friendship and cooperation between the two Indonesian and Australian countries that have been steep so far, General Dudung Abdurachman and the Indonesian Army Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Simon Stuart placed a bouquet of flowers at the Australian War Memorial in Canberra, ACT, Monday 10 October.

Australian War Memorial is a monument to the history of war involving Australian soldiers in several conflicts since the first world war. It has been named more than 103,000 names of personnel who were victims of the war until the end of 2021.

Inside the War Memorial building, there are ornaments, illustrations and war historical objects that are neatly arranged to explain to visitors the meaning of sacrifice and the struggle of heroes in every war period.

"The great nation will always appreciate the services of its heroes. At War Memorial, we can feel the battlefield for Australian soldiers that must be captured and defended in every war they go through," said General Dudung during the review as quoted by Dispenad.

After the review, General Dudung and Lt. Gen. Simon Stuart took part in the Last Post Ceremony as well as laying wreaths as a form of respect for the soldiers who had died. Lest we forget.
