PKS Don't Have A Presidential Candidate Declaration Plan For The 2024 General Election, Including Anies Baswedan

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Habib Aboe Bakar Alhabsyi admits that his party does not yet have a plan to declare a presidential candidate (candidate) in the 2024 election. "All political steps taken by other parties in the presidential election, we are paying attention and respect. For PKS itself, there is currently no plan to declare one of the figures as a presidential candidate to be carried out in the 2024 General Election," Habib Aboe said in his statement in Jakarta, Monday, October 10. Until now, he continued, PKS is still observing the development of the national political situation. According to him, to determine the presidential candidate in PKS in accordance with the provisions of AD ART 18 paragraph 2 letter a is the authority of the Central Executive Board (DPTP). "Meanwhile, the results of the DPTP trial decided that the presidential election would be submitted based on the results of the Syuro Council's deliberation. Therefore, we will wait and follow the process," said the member of the DPR as quoted by Antara. He said that PKS has high attention preparing themselves in facing the 2024 presidential election. However, PKS chose steps not to rush to declare the presidential candidate to be promoted. "structural consolidation continues to be carried out periodically to absorb PKS's internal aspirations as well as prepare PKS political machines in welcoming the upcoming presidential election," he said. Habib Aboe emphasized that one of the consolidation activities carried out by PKS was a "political update", where the PKS had held twice. "This is a Rapimnas level forum to discuss the national political development situation, including the presidential election," he said. The NasDem Party DPP on Monday (3/10) has officially declared Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate in the 2024 election.

Chairman of the NasDem Party DPP Surya Paloh believes that the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) and the Democratic Party will unite in the inauguration of Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate in the 2024 presidential election.

"Regarding the two parties, whether PKS is our friend, our friend Democrat, to be honest, from what perspective I understand. What I understand as a politician practitioner, God willing, all of them unite their thoughts, passion, and close together with NasDem. God willing," said Surya Paloh after the 2024 Presidential Decree Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate at NasDem Tower, Jakarta, last Monday, October 3.

According to him, NasDem's relationship with PKS and Democrats is good and getting closer. The ranks of PKS officials have even visited NasDem Tower to meet Surya Paloh. However, until now between NasDem and PKS, they have not officially formed a coalition in the 2024 General Election. Surya did not force other parties to build coalitions with the NasDem Party which has declared Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate. Other parties can consider the presidential candidate carried by NasDem according to the criteria or not.
