If The Weather Continues To Extreme, Disdik Makassar Prepares Distance Learning

JAKARTA - The Makassar City Education Office (Disdik) has prepared an online learning program option or learning from home. This is done to anticipate extreme weather in the area.

Head of Makassar City Education and Education, Muhyiddin, said that sometimes schools are affected when it rains with high intensity. Such as SMPN 19 Manggala, SMPN 37 Cambayya, Ujung Tanah District and SMPN 26 Makassar.

"So if there is a puddle and prevents students from going to school, we have prepared anticipation by studying from home. But we certainly hope it doesn't happen," said Muhyiddin as quoted by Antara, Monday, October 10.

He explained that the online learning process was not an obstacle. Moreover, educators already have experience not to do face-to-face learning due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition, online learning time due to bad weather is also considered not to last long, so it is hoped that it will not affect the effectiveness of the student teaching and learning process.

Disdik Makassar also introduced disaster mitigation to students in the area as an anticipation, especially after entering the rainy season.

He said it was important to provide disaster education to students so that when a disaster occurs such as flooding, they can already know what to do so as not to panic, including finding a safer place.
