Roads In Sumatra, BMKG Forecast Medan, Bandar Lampung, Jambi To Palembang Rain Today

JAKARTA - The weekend is the right moment to travel for loved ones or family. However, those who decide to travel in Sumatra should pay attention to today's weather forecast if they don't want to be caught in heavy rains.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) has forecast a number of areas on the island of Sumatra to be hit by rain accompanied by lightning today, Sunday 9 October.

Light rain intensity has the opportunity to fall in the cities of Banda Aceh, Pekanbaru, Tanjung Pinang, Palembang, Jambi, and Bengkulu.

Meanwhile, the city of Bandar Lampung is forecasted to experience rain accompanied by lightning and the city of Medan faces the potential for heavy rain today.

Similar weather also occurs in a number of areas in Indonesia.

On the island of Java, light rain has the opportunity to fall in Central Jakarta City; rain accompanied by lightning has the potential to occur in the city of Yogyakarta; moderately rain is forecasted in Serang, Semarang and Surabaya cities; and heavy rains have the opportunity to flush the city of Bandung.

Meanwhile, Mataram City has the opportunity to experience light rain and Denpasar City faces rain accompanied by lightning.

On the island of Kalimantan, light rain is forecasted to fall in Pontianak City, moderate intensity rain is likely to fall in Palangka Raya City, and rain that can be accompanied by lightning is likely to occur in the cities of Banjarmasin, Tanjung Selor, and Samarinda.

It is also predicted to rain in the Sulawesi Island area. Light rain is forecasted in Makassar and Kendari cities, rain accompanied by lightning is likely to occur in Palu City, moderate-intensity rain has the potential to occur in Manado City, and heavy rain is forecasted to lash the cities of Mamuju and Gorontalo.

In addition, rain has the opportunity to fall in eastern Indonesia. Light rain is predicted in Ternate, Manokwari, and Jayapura cities, while Ambon City faces the potential for moderate rain.
