JAKARTA - The Surakarta City Government has assisted in the smooth operation of former terrorism convicts who are members of the Gema Salam Foundation. Handed over one unit of four-wheeled vehicle.

Deputy Mayor of Surakarta Teguh Prakosa on the sidelines of handing over vehicles in Solo, said the assistance was part of the guidance carried out by the local government to former convicts.

"This is part of continuing Mr. Rudy (the previous Surakarta Mayor) who used to foster former convicts' friends. I can be trusted and I convey it to the guardian (Surakarta Mayor currently Gibran Rakabuming Raka)," he said.

However, before handing over the aid, he asked former convicts to first form a foundation for legality when receiving grants in any form.

"Because the regulations did regulate it. Finally, the Gema Salam Foundation came out, there was Mas Jack (Jack Harun), Mas Awud, and friends here," he said.

In addition to operational vehicles, he said, the Surakarta City Government also provides joint offices around the Kepatihan Wetan.

"There is some room, including for the operational activities of several organizations, including the Gema Salam Foundation. So we are only fostering, continuing the mandate from Mr. Rudi," he said.

He hopes that through these efforts the Gema Salam Foundation can participate in communicating all elements that used to have different views and different opinions about the life of society, culture, religion, social and politics.

"Yes, at least the perception is the same, the frames are the same, even though the perspectives are different. The hope is that Pancasila will remain the basis of life in Indonesia," he said.

On the same occasion, the Chairman of the Gema Salam Foundation, Joko Triharmanto alias Jack Harun, appreciated the assistance.

"Alhamdulillah, today we can get a car grant for the operation of the Gema Salam Foundation. We administrators and coaches will use it as best they can, namely for our activities to make the Gema Salam Foundation's vision and mission a success, about the economy and social needs of ex-nupiters who have returned to the Republic of Indonesia," he said.

He also hopes that in accordance with the orders of the Mayor of Surakarta Gibran Rakabuming Raka and the Deputy Mayor of Surakarta so that the Gema Salam Foundation can be the driving force to invite all terrorism convicts back to the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.

Regarding the use of the operational vehicle, the Gema Salam Foundation will be used for the operation, including visits to correctional institutions and gatherings to former convicts, said Joko Triharmanto.
