Starting From Surut, There Are Only 9 RTs Left In Jakarta Soak Floods

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) noted that the flood points in Jakarta due to last night's rain began to decrease. Of the 81 affected RTs, 9 RTs were still flooded as of Wednesday, October 5, at 06.00 WIB.

"BPBD noted that the previously occurred in 81 RTs, currently there are 9 RTs or only 0.03 percent of the 30,470 RTs in the DKI Jakarta area," said Head of BPBD DKI Jakarta Isnawa Adji in a statement, Wednesday, October 5.

In West Jakarta, floods hit 1 RT in Kedoya Selayan Village with a water level of 20 centimeters and 1 RT in Kebon Jeruk Village with a water level of up to 80 centimeters.

"The reason is that the rainfall is high and the Pesanggrahan River overflows," said Isnawa.

In East Jakarta, floods hit 1 RT in Kebon Pala Village with a water level of 60 centimeters, 2 RTs in Makasar Village with water levels of up to 50 centimeters, and 1 RT in Rambutan Village with water levels of up to 45 centimeters.

"The reason is that the rainfall is high and the overflow of the Cipinang River," said Isnawa.

Then in Central Jakarta, floods hit 3 RTs in Bendungan Hilir Village with water levels reaching 40 centimeters. The cause is the overflow of the Krukut River.

Meanwhile, there are currently hundreds of refugees spread over several points. Among them are 79 people in the Al Fatah Mosque, Mampang Prapatan Village; 175 people in the Multipurpose Room of the West Kuningan Village Head Office; 78 people in Musala Al Inayah and the houses of residents of RW 08, Pejaten Barat Village; and 29 people in the Al Bahri Mosque, Makasar Village.

As an effort to overcome flooding, the DKI BPBD has alerted officers to monitor all inundation in each region and coordinate related service elements to extract inundation together with the local village heads and sub-district heads.

"The inundation is targeted to recede in a short time," he said.
