Dozens Of Houses In Pacitan Damaged By Landslides

PACITAN - A total of 39 houses and a bridge were damaged in Pacitan Regency, East Java due to landslides that occurred in the last few days.

The head of the Pacitan Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency, Erwin Andri Atmoko, said that landslides were spread across 12 local sub-districts.

"There were no fatalities or injuries in the incident," he said, as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, October 4.

In addition to hitting houses and buildings, landslides also caused a number of roads and bridges to break with losses estimated at hundreds of millions or even more than one billion rupiah.

"It could be. We can't calculate the losses yet," he said.

After the incident, the Pacitan BPBD conducted data collection in 12 sub-districts affected by landslides.

As a result, 39 houses were identified as damaged. Starting from broken walls, collapsed roofs, to collapsed houses.

The areas most affected by this landslide are in Tulakan District (11 houses and two road points), Ngadirojo District (3 houses, 8 roads and 1 broken bridge), and Sudimoro District (20 houses).

"This data is still temporary. Data collection is still being carried out and we will update it if new reports come in," he concluded.
