"Trucks also do not use light reflecting devices (APC), plus the travel vehicle travels at high speed," added Director General Budi.

So far the Ministry of Transportation has disseminated the Regulation of the Director General of Land Transportation Number: KP.3996 / AJ.502 / DRJD / 2019 concerning Light Reflecting Devices for Motorized Vehicles, Articulated Trains, and Temporary Trains. In order to minimize the number of crash accidents or side-hits of freight vehicles, due to lack of lighting at night.

Furthermore, Director General Budi appealed for a similar incident not to happen again. He also emphasized that entrepreneurs pay attention to the load of their trucks so that they do not exceed the specified threshold or Over Dimension and Over Loading (ODOL).

"For toll roads, we will apply cargo transfer, so later if the cargo is more than 50 percent, it will be stopped, lower the load and I will transfer the cargo," said Director General Budi.

He asked transportation entrepreneurs not to overload. The Ministry of Transportation is targeting that until 2023, it can continue to reduce ODOL gradually until the load threshold is 5 percent.
