JAKARTA - Member of Commission III of the DPR Abdullah asked the National Police to thoroughly investigate the fraud case committed by producer Minya Kita. This is in response to findings on the market related to the volume of Minya Kita which is not in accordance with the dose.
"We ask the authorities to thoroughly investigate the fraud committed by the producers. So carefully investigate the networks that play in the case of reducing the Minya Kita dose. Because this has greatly caused public losses," Abdullah said, Friday, March 14.
Abdullah emphasized that the government and law enforcement must take firm action against producers who are proven to be cheating. He also asked the Ministry to participate in evaluating the distribution of people's cooking oil.
"We believe this fraud has a long chain and involves many parties, so a total audit from upstream to downstream is very much needed. Also check whether there are other cooking oil brands whose contents do not comply with the measurement provisions," Abdullah explained.
"Don't let the people continue to be harmed because we know that recently there have been many fraudulent practices, including those carried out by state officials," he added.
The legislator from the Central Java VI electoral district then highlighted the lack of supervision by the Food Task Force which could not anticipate the violation of the distribution of subditional cooking oil. In fact, he said, one of the tasks of the Food Task Force is to supervise so that there is no practice of fraud in the market.
"Supervision should be increased more. Don't after it's crowded because of the community's findings, just flock everywhere. Anticipation is better than overcoming so that people don't become victims," he said.
Abdullah hopes that the Government will prioritize the needs of the community, including ensuring that all food products are free from all forms of fraud. He appealed to the government to maintain public trust in the cooking oil subsidy program.
"Consumer rights must be properly protected. Especially in encouraging the application of more effective consumer protection laws, so that people can file complaints and get compensation if they are harmed by fraudulent practices," Abdullah explained.
As is known, the National Police's Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim) has named 14 company directors as suspects related to the violation of the producer of MinyaKita. The determination of the suspect follows the receipt of 14 reports related to the mismatch between the Minya Kita's dose and the label on the packaging.
The National Police explained that manufacturers who violated the rules mostly produced MinyaKita in the form of bottled bottles. Even so, it was later discovered that the package bearing Minya Kita was also found to have reduced the dose.
The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police also revealed the cunning mode of the cooking oil production plant MinyaKita packaging 1 liter whose contents had been circumcised into 750-800 milliliters. The police revealed that the oil production machine of Minya Kita had been set with a dose of only 800ml.
Then, Minya Kita is produced in bottled bottles and vouchers (bankals) with different sizes. As a result, Minya Kita in 1 liter packaging is only filled with 800 ml to 920 ml and is circulating in the market.
The National Police's Food Task Force (Satgas) has sealed the producer of the Minyakitar aqueduct, namely PT Artha Eka Global Asia, which is located in Karawang, West Java. According to Abdullah, firm action is needed to deter the perpetrators.
"There must be more severe sanctions for violators, both revocation of business licenses for producers who do not comply with the provisions or criminal sanctions for fraud committed," he said.
The member of the legal commission also asked the National Police Food Task Force to make maximum efforts to enforce the law and prevent criminal acts according to the direction of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo. Of course, Abdullah said, this is also an effort to support President Prabowo Subianto's Asta program, one of which is to achieve an increase in the quality of the economic and social sectors of the community.
"So we hope that cases like this will not happen again in the future. Here the key is how all ministries and institutions work with the aim of prioritizing people's welfare," he said.
Abdullah said that Commission III of the DPR would also follow up on the direction of the DPR leadership who requested that Commission III of the DPR immediately coordinate with the National Police regarding the findings of violations in the production and distribution of Minya Kita.
"Commission III of the DPR will coordinate with Bareskrim regarding the forgery of Minya Kita and reductions in doses," he said.
The PKB politician also ensured that Commission III of the DPR would continue to supervise so that the Government policy was implemented effectively in the field. Commission III, he said, will also monitor the results of the investigation into the criminal case of fraud in the distribution of Minyakitan and actions against rogue producers.
"We encourage the distribution system of cooking oil to be more transparent and accountable. We will continue to monitor the law enforcement process to ensure the creation of public justice," he concluded.
Previously, the Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, stated that her party would carry out further investigations regarding the findings of the circulation of Minya Kita which was not in accordance with the dose. He also said that the DPR would conduct a direct investigation regarding the Minya Kita case which contained the 'stipulation'.
