JAKARTA - The Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, China, has smart classrooms for Mandarin lessons that can facilitate teaching models interactively. "This smart Classroom is a pilot project with the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing and the Chinese Language Education Center (CLEC) in Chinese teaching," said Indonesian Ambassador to China Djauhari Oratmangun in Beijing, quoted from Antara, Saturday, October 1. The launch of the learning program was carried out at the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, on Thursday, September 29, which was attended by Ambassador, Deputy Ambassador Dino R Kusnadi, Education and Culture Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing Yaya Sutarya, and Director General of CLEC of the Ministry of Education of China Professor Ma Jianfei. CLEC plans to establish a Mandarin and Innovation Center at six universities in Indonesia, namely Gadjah Mada University, Padjajaran University, Yogyakarta State University, London School of Public Relations (LSPR), Ciputra University, and Pancasila University. "The presence of Smart Classroom at the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing is to gain first experience before the launch of the six universities," said the Ambassador. Djauhari thanked CLEC for making a positive contribution to improving the quality of teachers, principals, and lecturers through various trainings at the elementary, secondary, and high education levels. "We hope that the establishment of the Language and Innovation Center can be realized in 2022 in Indonesia," said Djauhari. CLEC plans to provide assistance to the same devices to 35 universities in Indonesia to foster interest in learning Mandarin, as well as improve the quality of learning virtually for teachers. The device, which is now placed in the Multipurpose Hall of the Indonesian Embassy in Beijing, is equipped with touch screens, thematics board, and visual audio. Meanwhile, Prof. Ma Jianfei hopes that the device can improve the quality of lecturers and the management of the Mandarin Study program in Indonesia.
